In a news release , Thumb Oilseed Producer’s Cooperative, in cooperation with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), announced the voluntary recall of 2623, 40-pound bags and 360, 1500-pound totes of soybean flour, in conjunction with 924, .08-ton loads of their bulk soy meal due to the potential that they are contaminated with Salmonella. This recall affects soy flour distributed in 40-pound paper bags under the brand names Nex Soy and Soy Beginnings and soy flour sold in 1500-pound polyurethane totes under the brand name Soy Beginnings.
